Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What ages are the classes suitable for? What age is best to start?

A: The youngest we would recommend would be age three for our children’s beginner class. There is no ‘best’ or ‘right’ age to start dancing though – we have adult dancers who only started dancing when they came to the adult class!

Q: I have signed my little one up for their trial class! What happens next!?

A: You will receive an email or text from Julie to confirm she has received your free trial booking. This also gives you the opportunity to ask any burning questions you need the answer to!

Q: What does my little one need for their first class?

A: A bottle of water and some comfortable clothes. Leggings or shorts are perfect dance wear to get them started.

Q: I am an adult who has always wanted to do Irish Dancing but never done it before! Am I able to sign up for the adult class?

A: YES! The adult class caters for individuals of all ages and abilities. You get to set the pace of your learning while being a part of a supportive community.

Q: Is taking part in dancing competitions a necessity?

A: No, definitely not. While we would encourage dancers to perform to build their confidence, whether it be as part of yearly shows or displays, however this is never a requirement.

Q: As a parent, am I able to sit and observe the class?

A: The general rule of thumb is no however if your dancer is particularly nervous about starting we would allow, for a limited period, parents to stay in the class. For some of our classes there is a waiting area where you can observe the class from another room however we find having parents within the class can easily become a distraction for dancers.
